A lot of great arcade games never made it out of Japan, and plenty of others had their best material added later, on the home ports. Re-recorded soundtracks, cutscenes the arcade version never had, characters that turned up years afterward. The patches here put that work back onto the arcade hardware it belongs on.
Each one runs against your own copy of the game, on a real board, on a MiSTer, or in MAME. No game data is hosted here, and nothing goes out until it has been tested on the real thing.
Audio Arrangements
When Capcom brought its arcade games home on CD, it re-recorded the music. These put those soundtracks back under the arcade games on MiSTer, while every punch, voice and jingle still comes from the board.
CPS+
When Capcom brought its arcade games home on CD, it sent the music back to the studio and re-recorded it. Those versions never made it back to the arcade. CPS+ puts them there. Pick a game on your MiSTer and the arranged soundtrack is just playing, while every punch, voice and jingle still comes from the arcade board itself.
Enhanced Versions
Arcade games with the best of their later versions built in: characters, modes, cutscenes and more from the home ports, running as real arcade games. The originals stay intact underneath.
Final Fight EX
The Sega CD version of Final Fight opened with a proper animated cutscene. Final Fight EX puts it back on the arcade game, running as native CPS-1 graphics, with a new EX title, for HBMAME and MiSTer.
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter EX
The arcade game with everything it held back: Norimaro in the US game, Cyber-Akuma and Apocalypse on your side, extra colors and eight speeds. USA and Japan builds.
Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold
Capcom's 2006 PlayStation 2 anthology carried the final revision of Alpha 2 Gold, the console edition of Alpha 2 that brought Cammy into the roster. It was never released on arcade hardware. This rebuilds it as a real CPS-2 game, in four regional builds, for emulators, MiSTer, and real hardware.
Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship
Japan's Super Turbo with the extras it never had together: Shin Akuma and Ten Akuma on the select screen, the bonus stages back, Tournament Battle, two more colors and Free Play. In English or Japanese.
Restorations
Some games lost things on the way out of Japan: quotes, endings, even characters, or the ability to run outside Japan at all. A restoration puts back what the Japanese version had and leaves the rest of the game as it was.
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
The US board left things out: no Norimaro, generic endings for the secret fighters, and half the win quotes. This puts it all back, in English, and changes nothing else.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
Zero 3 Upper shipped locked to Japanese cabinets. One byte in the disc header says so. Change it, re-encrypt it, and the same disc boots on a USA or Export NAOMI.
Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha
Zero 2 Alpha's English script was a cut-down one: shorter story scenes, a handful of random win quotes, and no ending of his own for Evil Ryu. This puts the whole Japanese script back, in English.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Grand Master Challenge
Japan's Super Turbo is the one the pros play, and it never came west. Now it does: the same game, with every quote, tip and ending in English.
Translations
Games that only ever came out in Japan, translated into English so everyone can play them.
Night Warriors 2
Vampire Hunter 2 never left Japan. This translates all of it, under the Western name it should have had: Western character names, all 225 post-fight quotes, every boss exchange, and every ending.
Vampire Savior 2
Vampire Savior 2 never left Japan. This translates all of it: Western character names, all 241 post-fight quotes, every ending, and the final showdown with Jedah.
